Marchés publics : La part des PME a atteint 35% en 2023 (Mme Fettah)

The Minister of Economy and affaires, Nadia Fettah, stated on Monday at the Chamber of Representatives that the share of public contracts awarded to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) reached 35% in 2023.

In response to an vocal question on support for businesses in accessing public contracts, the minister assured that special attention is given to SMEs in the public procurement sector, particularly through the Investment Charter. She noted that financing remains a challenge for these enterprises due to their inability to provide guarantees.

In this regard, Ms. Fettah explained that in 2023, SMEs obtained guarantees from the company « Tamwilcom » worth 40 billion dirhams (MMDH). She also added that according to data from Bank Al-Maghrib, 41% of loans granted in 2022 benefited this category of enterprises.

Furthermore, in response to another question regarding pension system reform, Ms. Fettah emphasized the need for reform. She stated that the government and its social dialogue partners have committed to carrying out this reform over a significant period of several decades.

The minister also added that both parties have agreed to reform the governance and management of pension systems, and to work towards developing a clear vision for this project by the next round of social dialogue in September.
