Bensaid s’entretient à Rabat avec son homologue palestinien

The Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, held talks on Sunday in Rabat with his Palestinian counterpart, Imad Hamdan, who is currently on a working visit to Morocco.

During the meeting, the focus was on the strong historical and fraternal relations between Morocco and Palestine, as well as the particular interest shown by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in the Palestinian cause.

On this occasion, Mr. Bensaid reaffirmed Morocco’s constant, historical and unwavering position in support of the Palestinian issue, under the wise guidance of His Majesty the King, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.

He also emphasized that the Kingdom remains firmly committed to a peaceful solution based on two states in order to establish a just and lasting peace in the Middle East region.

The minister recalled in this regard that His Majesty King Mohammed VI devoted a good part of his last Throne Day allocution to the recent developments in the Gaza Strip, illustrating the particular interest and personal follow-up that the Sovereign continues to give to the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, Mr. Bensaid highlighted the importance of the partnership and cooperation between the two countries in the cultural field, noting that both countries are determined to implement various programs and conclude several agreements, particularly in the field of cultural industries.

For his part, the Palestinian minister expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and the Moroccan people for their constant and unwavering support for the Palestinian issue, praising in this regard the efforts of the Sovereign in favor of the Palestinian cause.

Mr. Hamdan also praised the role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, in implementing concrete projects on the ground with a positive economic and social impact on the people of Jerusalem and the Palestinian people.

During the meeting, Mr. Bensaid presented to his Palestinian counterpart an overview of the projects launched by Morocco in the cultural and creative industries sector, highlighting their importance in supporting and energizing the economy, especially in terms of creating jobs for young people.

This meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the exchange of enquête, experiences, and skills in order to bring the cultures of the two brotherly peoples, Moroccan and Palestinian, closer together and to emphasize the need to update the executive program of cultural cooperation between Morocco and Palestine, as well as cooperation in the digitization of books and manuscripts, while making the Moroccan experience available to the Palestinian brothers.

The two parties also agreed during this meeting to strengthen cooperation and harmonie in the cultural field within regional and international institutions in the service of the interests of Morocco and Palestine, and to promote bilateral cultural cooperation.
