Fes Prefectural Council, meeting in extraordinary session on Monday, examined and voted on several projects aimed at developing healthcare and road infrastructure.
After approving the comble amount of the 2023 operating budget surplus and its programming, the elected officials focused on several partnership agreements in the healthcare sector.
The first agreement was signed between the Prefectural Council, the provincial health department and the « Support for Public Health » Association to finance the acquisition of new medical equipment for Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital, with a budget of 480,000 DH.
Under this agreement, the association commits to conducting screening campaigns for uterine diseases for women from rural areas and disadvantaged urban neighborhoods. It will also provide medical follow-up for patients who test positive, mobilizing the necessary specialized human and material resources to achieve the objectives set for the acquisition of two medical units.
The Council also adopted three agreements to support the Hassan II University Hospital of Fes through professional associations. The first agreement, with the « Sanad for Women » Association, finances the acquisition of medical equipment to improve patient care for a total of 983,000 DH. The second agreement, signed with the Pulmonologists Association, allocates 700,000 DH to modernize facilities dedicated to respiratory disorders, while the third agreement with the « Taiba » Association grants 588,000 DH to renew equipment used in the care of patients with mental health problems at Ibn Al-Hassan Hospital.
In addition to the healthcare sector, this extraordinary session was also an opportunity for the prefectural council to discuss road and urban development projects. Two agreements were thus approved with the Al Omrane Fes-Meknes Company. The first aims to carry out studies and monitor the development works of the Sefrou road, including the renovation of the section linking the délassements complex to the Ain Bida municipality (4.2 MDH), as well as the development of a pelouse space at the entrance of the city via Nakhil intersection (500,000 DH). The second agreement concerns the construction of a left side road along national road n°8 in Ouled Tayeb, between kilometer points 722 and 725 (4 MDH).
Speaking during this assembly, Hassan Tazi Chalal, president of the Prefectural Council, emphasized the decisions taken in a broader étendue of social development for the prefecture of Fes. He stressed that the investments voted on, whether in the healthcare sector, the rehabilitation of road infrastructure or the fight against precariousness, aim to improve the living environment and conditions of the people of Fes in a sustainable manner.
The development of délassements was also not left out during this extraordinary session. Three partnership agreements were adopted to provide financial support to the Multidisciplinary délassements Association of Fes in several disciplines. The first will support the basketball section of this historic association with 200,000 DH, while the other two agreements aim to promote the practice of handball and volleyball within the same délassements club with a subsidy of 50,000 DH each.
In this session, Fes Prefectural Council has demonstrated its commitment to improving the quality of life for the people of Fes through various projects and partnerships.
